Open Studio Weekly a six week social practice project inviting neighbors and visitors to the area to engage in the gallery space with the story of the gallery and an invitation to make art using the cyanotype process.

As part of an 8 week creator-in-residence award at The Weaving Shed in Hillswick Shetland, Morlock invented a social practice project inviting community members and visitors to the area to explore the gallery space, make art prints using cyanotype methods and if time permitted, have tea!

Visitors were excited to engage and thrilled with the results. Using a variety of local detritus from the sea and other invented or found materials, curious participants left with new memories, fun conversations and art! All elected to have their prints included in the community pop-up exhibition that was held on 07 May 2023 at the Weaving Shed.

A unique intersection with this rural part of Shetland, population about 900 during the spring of 2023. Thank you Shetland!
